Diagnosed with testicular cancer on October 2, 1996, Armstrong battled with the disease and didn't let it get in the way of his will to wear the yellow jersey once again to compete in the Tour de France cycling tournament. In partnership with sports apparel firm Nike, he started selling his Lance Armstrong bracelets for a dollar apiece, with the profits going to the Lance Armstrong Foundation to fund cancer research.

It is not so surprising to find that the Lance Armstrong bracelets have become a cultural phenomenon. Aside from being very affordable, people feel they are contributing to a worthy cause by buying and wearing the yellow bracelets. Add this to the fact that the wrist band is not difficult to wear as a fashion accessory. It goes along well with almost any attire: from your regular jeans-and-shirt attire to preppy to sports outfits. School children and teenagers think it is hip to be seen wearing one, and it doesn't make a huge dent in their allowance to buy it. Professional athletes have been seen wearing them at sports events. Even corporate executives in power suits have taken to wearing these Lance Armstrong bracelets.

Made from rubber, it is similar to other cause-related bracelets that have emerged over the past years, such as those for breast cancer and diabetes. Many Americans collect these wrist bands, including the Lance Armstrong bracelets, because aside from being fashion-friendly and easy to wear, they have philanthropic and social significance.

Why yellow? This color is especially significant to Lance Armstrong. Aside from imparting feelings of warmth and optimism, yellow is the color of the jersey that the leading Tour de France cyclist is given to wear, and which he has worn to victory numerous times. The yellow Lance Armstrong bracelets are his standard bearers in his fight against cancer, and they bear witness to the things that have given his life new meaning.

Since ancient times, women and men have worn one form of jewelry or another as a way of expressing some sentiment, feeling or as a symbol. The Lance Armstrong 'Live Strong' bracelet is a modern version of an age old tradition; jewelry as a symbol of hope, courage and support of a worthy cause.

For more information on jewelry and gemstones, we cordially invite you to visit www.morninglightjewelry.com to pick up your FREE copy of "How To Buy Jewelry And Gemstones Without Being Ripped Off." Before investing in stocks and bonds or buying life insurance, before implementing any change or making any decisions, you first need to analyze and understand your entire financial picture. Two documents allow you to do just that. A Balance Sheet and a Cash Flow Statement enable you to take an in-depth look at your current financial situation and make better decisions about the future. With a little work, you can develop these two tools and be on your way to a solid plan for your finances.

Balance Sheet
A balance sheet is a snapshot of your personal finances at one point in time. It contains two main elements: what you own (assets), and what you owe (liabilities). Your net worth is expressed as: Net Worth = Assets - Liabilities. That is, what you own minus what you owe.

A balance sheet clearly lists all assets and liabilities. Examples of assets include: house, investments such as stocks and bonds, savings and checking accounts, 401(k), IRAs, business interests, artwork, and jewelry, among others. Liabilities include mortgage balances, credit cards, education loans, and any other debt. Once you have created a list of everything you own and everything you owe, simply subtract the sum of the assets from the sum of the liabilities- this is your net worth.

The ultimate goal of most investors is to increase their net worth. The balance sheet is a very useful tool to identify strengths and weaknesses in your current finances, as well as to determine your goals for the future. Someone with a disproportionate amount of liabilities might set a goal to eliminate this debt. On the other hand, someone with a positive net worth (more assets than liabilities) might plan to save and invest towards retirement, college, or another goal.

Cash Flow Statement
After analyzing your balance sheet and determining your goals, you need to decide how to fund these goals. A well formulated plan is one not only with realistic goals, but also a sensible means of achieving them. That is, having goals is good, but you must be able to pay for them. Using a cash flow statement will enable you to determine how to pay for your goals.

A cash flow statement is a detailed look at all money coming in and going out over a period of time. It illustrates what you earn (revenue) and what you spend (expenses). Your net cash flow is expressed as: Net Cash Flow = Revenue - Expenses. That is, what you earn minus what you spend.

Some examples of revenue include: salary and wages, self-employment earnings, dividends, interest, and other investment income. Expenses may include: mortgage payments, rent payments, insurance costs, utilities, clothing, food, child care, alimony or child support, travel, entertainment, loan payments, education costs, taxes, charitable contributions, gifts, and gasoline. After listing all you earn and everything you spend, you can calculate your net cash flow by simply subtracting expenses from revenue.

By analyzing your cash flow statement, you can more easily cut expenses and identify excess net cash to use towards your goals. Generally, someone with negative net cash flow should first concentrate on cutting expenses to achieve positive cash flow before attempting to save or invest towards any future goals. Once positive net cash flow is achieved, excess money can be used directly for funding and achieving your goals.

In developing a balance sheet and a cash flow statement, it is important to remember one general rule-of-thumb- Quality in - Quality out. The more detail and care you put into your planning documents, the more effective they will be. A plan is only as good as the effort you put forth when creating it.

About The Author: Jonathan Citrin provides financial goal planning services. From short to long dress and skirt styles. From halters to cap sleeves. From tweed to pastel shades. Shoe styles vary from flip flops to wedges to stiletto heels. And be sure to check out the fabulous styles in casual and sporting sandal wear.

When choosing items for your spring wardrobe, first analyze your body shape and determine what styles will look best on you. Next decide what your favorite colors are for this season and determine what colors flatter you the most and which flatter you the least. Stay away from the colors and styles that don't flatter. Choose clothing that is most flattering, but also be sure to step out on the limb a little bit and choose a few items that are not a traditional style or color choices you would make. Dare to experiment a little bit. It's always nice to add a little spice to your wardrobe.

This season there truly is something for everyone. We see skirts that go from mini to ankle length. Full skirts, pencil skirts, flared skirts - they are all in style. We've got great selection in summer tops from open back, to halter, to baby tee's, to strapless. And shorts are arriving on the scene in a variety of lengths from short shorts to knee length.

Your color choices are truly endless! The full spectrum of pastel shades is at your fingertips. But wait, so are the vibrant bright shades such as yellow, chartreuse, turquoise, and pink. Traditional white is still in the running and is very easy to dress up or down.
This seasons' jewelry is also large with something for everyone. We've got long dangles, full chandeliers, fun studs, large hoops, and more. There are plenty of rhinestones and crystals on the scene this season. And wait! Pearls have had a whole new facelift - now faux pearls are available in a wide variety of color and they don't just belong with your formal wear. This season pearls are ever so chic with your fave pair of jeans. Now that's progress!

Bangles are on the top of the fashion radar this season. Load your arm from top to bottom, wear a single, mix and match materials, sizes and styles.

Wood jewelry is the top pick to go with the ethnic prints of the season. There's some wonderful vintage pieces to be had for a reasonable price. The beauty about vintage is the exotic woods you can find which are no longer used today because of cost.

While you are busy uplifting your wardrobe and jewelry, why not uplift your body? Perhaps a new fragrance, a new hair cut or color, add some lighter shades to your makeup.

Remember to make your fashion statement you have to pamper the whole you! Spring is a time to rejuvenate, so take some time to rejuvenate not only your wardrobe but yourself.

Make your fashion statement!

Estate Jewelry International has been serving customers for over 20 years, providing estate jewely & costume jewelry for all occasions, as well as a wealth of information on jewelry, fashion, designers, and beauty. ON POSSESSIONS

Are you possessed by your possessions? How many dresses,
ties, homes, cars, jewelry, etc. are enough or too much? The
ancient Latins called too many possessions "impedimenta" or
what Julius Caesar, in crossing the Rubicon to take Rome,
called "baggage." In kindergarten we were taught to eat our
cookie, drink milk, take a nap in the afternoon, and flush.
Just the simple needs in life; food, shelter and clothing.
Saint Mark said, "What shall it profit a man to gain the
whole world and lose his soul?"

The Coach thinks . . . the true riches of life are still the
adventure of the book, a walk on the beach, growing a flower,
visits with friends, swimming in the ocean. What are the
riches of your soul?

3. ON SPEAKING OF FAILURE

For motivational speakers, nothing succeeds like failure
says the Wall Street Journal. The new motivation-speaking
shifts are:

How I learned from big mistakes My darkest hour Candor
Rebounds Mea Culpa Rocky Balboa Yes, a speaker still needs
to inspire audiences to success, but the message is more
significant when it includes some defeat and how to pick up
and move on.

The Coach asks . . . are you willing to divulge your
defeats?

4. ON JUMPING SHIP

Executive Coach, Randy Noe, revealed that a recent poll
conducted by Yahoo indicates that 47 percent of U.S. workers
are currently looking for another job or plan to look within
the next twelve months and are ready to jump ship at the
next opportunity. (CBS Marketwatch July 6, 2004). Another
study cites that "millions of workers are unhappy with their
present employment. At least 30 percent (maybe more) have
already "checked out." They show up for work each day but
are thinking about where their next job will be. The
electronic job board, www.Monster.com, reports that 72
percent of survey respondents are unhappy with their present
employment.

The Coach wonders. . . what does a balanced life of joyful
work and leisure pursuits look like for you?

5. ON BEING ACCURATE 99.9% OF THE TIME

This is what would happen with a 0.1% margin of error:

The postal service would lose 17,660 pieces of mail every
hour. Financial institutions would deduct $24.8 million from
the wrong accounts every hour. Ten newborn babies would be
dropped during delivery every day. More than 3,700
prescriptions would be filled incorrectly every day.
Eighteen airplanes would crash every day.
The Coach asks . . . where did this list come from?

6. There are a lot of tools and items that will make this task easier, whether it is a major overhaul or just a simple closet organization project.

For clothes that you don't wear very often, consider purchasing a wicker 5-drawer storage tower from Target. The tower is designed to easily fit into your closet and is an easy place to store off-season clothes, socks, and undergarments. This type of closet organization is helpful because it clears up some of your rod space, allowing you easier access to the clothing that you wear on a regular basis. Target also offers a shorter chest version of the same model and is available in a 3-drawer, 4-drawer, 5-drawer, or 6-drawer design. This form of closet organization is useful because of its less exaggerated height, allowing you to store even more items on top of the unit.

There are closet organization solutions available for bulky or special garments as well. The Space Bag is a revolutionary vacuum-sealed storage system that reduces volume and increases protection. At ContainerStore.com you can purchase hanging space bags? that improve your storage space by up to 75%. These bags are vacuum-sealed and are ideal for wedding dresses, occasional-use cocktail dresses, blankets, out-of-season suits, and sweaters. If you are running out of space on your closet rod, these bags are the perfect solution to your closet organization problem. Vacuum-sealed bags are easy to use and are guaranteed to keep your items dry and out of harm's way.

Another way to improve your closet rod space is to purchase multi-tier hangers. These types of hangers allow you to store multiple items of clothing on the same hanger and are available at ContainerStore.com. The Container Store offers multi-tier hangers for skirts, slacks, and shirts. Having enough space for all of your clothing items is a key element in closet organization, and these multi-tier hangers are perfect for smaller closets or for people that have a lot of clothing items.

Another idea is to double your hanging space with a closet rod doubler, also available at The Container Store. If your closet organization project isn't going as smoothly as you had hoped, this handy item is bound to give new life to your closet. The closet rod doubler adds an additional rod below your existing closet rod, giving your closet instant space with minimal effort.

tie rackWe can't talk about closet organization without mentioning how to organize things like ties, stockings, hats, and jewelry. A lot of people find that they have no idea how to store these items in an orderly fashion. The Container Store offers clear vinyl bags specifically for storing these types of accessories, and they are available in a few different sizes. These bags hang on your closet rod and clear up your existing clutter. An important factor in closet organization is being able to see where your items are located, which is why clear storage bags are the perfect solution.

Brian Channell is an entrepreneur and manages several businesses. So when you're looking for some extra spending cash and you want to make some space in your home, combine the two endeavors by selling your stuff instead of donating it or trashing it. Use the extra cash to pay a bill or start a holiday gift fund. Even better, use the windfall to treat yourself to a weekend getaway! Plenty of people and places exist to buy what you could be selling instead of giving away or trashing. Here are some places where you can sell your stuff:

ANTIQUE DEALERS AND COLLECTORS: Sell anything from old coins and costume jewelry to old records and toys that are in great shape to dealers. And sometimes not so great shape. I got several offers for an old hand-me down jeweled pocket watch, even with its bit of chipped paint. Dealers often resell your item to make themselves a profit. The telephone book yellow pages yields the names of area antique dealers or check the local newspaper classified ads under the "wanted to buy" sections. Be sure to get more than one quote or appraisal before you sell it.

FLEA MARKETS: Got a bunch of stuff to sell like books, video tapes, figurines, fake (or real) potted plants, even clothing in good shape? Rent a booth at the nearest flea market that generates a lot of traffic. Often just $5 - $15 rents a space with a table. Visit first to scope out the best booth for your bucks. Perhaps even bring your own additional tables, shelves or hanging clothes racks. A sheet or cheap tablecloth will dress up your flea market table too (Sometimes good displays attract more shoppers!). Don't forget the lawn chair and $20 in small bills for change. And flea market shoppers like to haggle. So inflate your prices just a bit so they can strike a bargain with you. It's expected!

CLASSIFIED ADS: Make room for the new couch by selling the old one in your local freebie paper, especially if you're in a college town. Used furnishings are hot sale items to students. I once netted $200 bucks for a small quaint and deteriorating three piece wood bedroom drawer set someone gave me a few years back. I placed an ad in the local "Pennysaver" newspaper for just a few bucks, and dozens of potential buyers called almost immediately. It sold in two days (to a furniture design graduate student who wanted to restore the furniture).

CONSIGNMENT/RESALE SHOPS: If you have discovered that you like walking in fresh air or you stink at tennis, consider giving up your treadmill or tennis rackets in exchange for cash. Sell used sporting goods equipment to stores such as Play it Again; or put it on consignment at such stores. That means if the item sells, the store gets a cut. If it doesn't sell, you're still stuck with it and earn no money. Also, you probably have some clothing consignment stores in your community. Check the phone book and look around, or ask around, to find them. Sometimes resale shops or consignment shops will advertise in those weekly freebie "tell and sell" or community newspapers too. Make some inquiries with these shops about what seasonal clothes they're looking for currently; then give them your good stash of clothes that you no longer wear to sell on consignment. Make sure you inquire about what happens to the clothing if it doesn't sell (so you get it back and they don't cart it off to the nearest charity clothing shop which some will if you want them to do so).

FRIENDS AND CO-WORKERS: Sure it's okay to give things away now and then to friends in need. But if you're planning to sell an item and you happen to know a friend, acquaintance or co-worker seeking just such an item, why not give them first purchase option? When I married, I ended up with a lot of duplicate items just taking up storage space. One day during a casual conversation with a co-worker I found a new home for my almost new, small microwave. My co-worker had just divorced, moved to this new state, owned almost no household items and lived in a very small apartment; my small microwave was a perfect match for her needs. I ended up with $25 I needed and she ended up with a must-have item for her new apartment. So keep your ears open for people seeking what you're getting rid of and don't be afraid to say an item is for sale (after all, if you could afford to give it away, you probably wouldn't be reading this article.).

Karen Fritscher-Porter is the publisher/editor of http://www.Christmas-Cash.com, a Website that brings you simple pocket cash and freebie earning opportunities and ideas. You want to honor the special day with a unique gift, but not necessarily draw attention to their age. After all, thirty is the pivotal year of life when we transition from young adults to full-fledged grownups. Make your loved one feel their best on their big day by choosing a gift that focuses on the beginning of his or her life, not the number of years that have passed.

If you want to give a truly personal gift, you cannot go wrong with a birthstone-- a gift idea that dates back to Biblical times. Birthstones and zodiac stones are great gifts that hold deep significance and will be treasured for years. When making your purchase, be sure to keep in mind the type and size of jewelry the person wears most often, as well as whether she prefers gold or silver. This way, you can embed her birthstone, for instance a pearl for a June birthday, in a setting that will be adored. Birthstones are also stunning when mounted in watches, brooches, and hairpins for those who rarely wear rings or necklaces. If you are shopping for a man, he may prefer a pocket watch or specialty ink pen imbedded with his birthstone to jewelry. Following, is a list of birthstones:

January -- Garnet
February -- Light Purple Amethyst
March -- Blue/Green Aquamarine
April -- Diamond
May -- Emerald
June -- Pearl
July -- Ruby
August -- Light Green Peridot
September -- Blue Sapphire
October -- Multi-Color Opal
November -- Golden Topaz
December -- Turquoise or Blue Zircon

Some people have a special interest or belief in their astrological information. If this is the case with your friend, consider giving him or her a physical symbol of the zodiac and of your love with a zodiac stone gift, sometimes called Astral Stones. As with the birthstone tradition, a gemstone is assigned to each of the twelve zodiac signs. If your friend is a Cancer, for instance, he or she will cherish an emerald and its professed abilities to increase courage and health. When presenting a zodiac stone gift, include a description of the gem's astrological significance and origins. Following is a list of zodiac stones:

Aquarius -- Garnet
Pisces -- Amethyst, Aquamarine
Aries -- Bloodstone
Taurus -- Sapphire
Gemini -- Agate, Alexandrite
Cancer -- Emerald
Leo -- Onyx, Peridot
Virgo -- Carnelian
Libra -- Opal
Scorpio -- Beryl
Sagittarius -- Topaz
Capricorn -- Ruby

Whether you purchase a birthstone or a zodiac gemstone, you'll honor your friend's thirtieth birthday in a distinctive, personal, and memorable way.

Jewelry Designer
www.ninecarat.com

Hot or Not -- Trends for Prom 2004
Blake Kritzberg

Prom: it's loaded with expectations. For some, it's merely a dance. For others, it means that first great step into adulthood, while savoring one's position at the top of the grammar-school food chain. And for some, it means a night of pure Cinderella magic. Combine all this with a youth-oriented culture, and you have an event that demands a serious fashion plan.

So what fashion forces are driving Prom 2004? The answers are: curves, glamour and loads of color.

"Prom 2004" is actually a bit of a misnomer, as most dresses tend to follow Fall 2003 styles. This make sense: prom dresses are high-ticket items, and retailers need a chance to test out trends in the shopping malls. (Hair is more adaptable, so prom hair is more attuned to the present).

As for fashion in general, it's still reeling from the ultimate anti-fashion incident: the 9/11 attack. You may recall that the industry stopped in its tracks. Major fashion shows were cancelled, or scaled down to a roomful of attendees on folding chairs. "Can fashion still matter?" was the question no one could ignore.

But of course, fashion didn't die. As always, it reflected the newly-altered world view. "World views" contain many interlocking strands, as does fashion, but strong themes emerged and are still in play. Here are some of the best-articulated trends in Prom 2004:

// The Solidarity Uniform

Dressy, formal looks from the 30s and 60s. Think Hollywood glamour, and Jacquie Kennedy. Beneath this trend is the new focus on attending family events and dressing up for them.

Expressing the 30s are the curvy, Screen Siren prom gowns: smoky mermaids in luxurious ruched satin, and Latin-style ruffles and trains.

Reviving the 60s are Grace Kelly/Jacquie-O A-line skirts, sometimes tea-length, with crinoline slips. These classic beauties are updated with simpler, more natural hair and makeup, not to mention some mod-style colors (bold black and white, bright red, or submarine yellow). Gloves and a small shiny pocketbook are must-haves, but for 2004, you don't have to stick to ordinary colors!

Timeless prom queen gowns are fully *au courant* as well -- no amount of beading, boning, crinoline or shine is over-the-top, so enjoy the license for glamour. Perhaps this is the right year to indulge in a delicate tiara!

You'll be surprised by the number of strapless gowns on offer. Every one of these "solidarity" gowns lend themselves to classic strapless glamour.

// The Eastern Bloc
Fashion influence is drifting, and the East is gaining ground: Londoners do their best to dress like Persians, and Bollywood antics make the global radar more often. You'll see the lovely outcome in those 2004 prom offerings with an elegant sari look and extraordinary hand beading.

// Sporty Spice
J. Lo lives on in the sporty side of Prom 2004, where two-piece gowns (some midriff-bearing) continue to make a splash. This look is not only fresh but practical; those beautiful bodices can be paired with jeans long after prom night's become a matchbook and a memory. "Sporty-prom" fashionistas can augment their costume with sparkling navel gems and exotic paint-on body tattoos.

// Celebrity Fashion
Can it go any lower? The prom world's not immune from red carpet antics, and several sultry 2004 offerings call for double-sided tape. This year's 'necklines' sometimes plunge so far that there's nowhere else to go; look for 'backdrift' to follow (no pun intended) in the next few years.

// In Truth, 2004
The dresses genuinely in sync with 2004 runways are the ultra-feminine pastels, with delicate ruffles. Think "prom dress meets the park." Don't be afraid to go with soft green, coral and pink paeons to girlhood, simply because most offerings are jewel-toned and sizzlingly seductive.

// Hair
Soft, shiny waves are new for spring (think lovely Charlize Theron at the Golden Globes); Aniston-straight is out. Whatever you do, don't torture your hair into some unnatural confection; it's simplicity and naturalness that updates these retrospective looks.

// Shoes
Clunky is dead. Open-toed stilettos are red-hot. Sure, the gorgeous silver (or transparent) sky-high creations on the market are the ultimate in impracticality. The romantic prom-goer will buy them anyway, get a great pedicure, and slip them off halfway through the night for a 'best of both worlds' (if not 'best for the pocketbook') experience.

// Jewelry and Makeup
With all those strapless fashions, take care not to over-accessorize. Unless you're going for a vintage look, don't spoil that beautiful expanse of clavicle with a necklace; don sparkly, dangling earrings instead to create a long line. If the Nicole Kidman look is more to your taste, consider one of those retro multi-strand chokers (in black, of course), or a slim black ribbon paired with a silk rose. Chandelier earrings might be "outre" at the Oscars, but they're definitely not a done deal at Prom 2004.

Blake Kritzberg is proprietor of
the Prom Dress Guide 2004,
at http://www.prom-dress-guide.com/
Visit the site for 2004 prom offerings,
news and trends.

Best of Friends Now and Always: Gifts for the Bridesmaids

by Jessica Rosenzweig

(BNN) The tradition of the bridal party began in ancient Rome with a bride selecting close friends and relatives to accompany and protect her on the journey to the marriage ceremony. Times have changed, of course, and while bridesmaids have less of a bodyguard role these days, their participation is no less important.

Bridesmaids offer faithful support and generous advice as wedding plans take shape. As a remembrance of her cherished friendship, the thoughtful bride always presents each bridesmaid with a gift as an expression of esteem, love and gratitude.

Jewelry and accessories will always be a reminder of that special day and treasured for a lifetime. They also complement and enhance the bridesmaid's dress.

Diamonds, still a girl's best friend, add dazzle to bridesmaids' dresses. Diamond Essence, one of the world's best-known makers of artificial diamonds, has exquisite simulated stones. Ross-Simons engraved sterling silver locket on a black silk cord brings a dash of romance to a bridesmaid's neckline. Inserting a picture of the bride and bridesmaid personalizes it even more. Once you have the answer to this question you will have the power to appeal to any women/man you want. So let's have a look at some of the basics.

Remember the saying "you never get a second chance to make a great first impression." Well, as explained in my book "the Ultimate Online Dating Handbook" this statement is also true in the dating world. Did you know that when meeting someone for the first time they will evaluate, judge and most likely stereotype you all in the first 3 minutes? That's right, all in the first 3 minutes! The first few minutes of meeting someone new are so crucial, you must learn to make those minutes work FOR you, and not against you. And since much of this judgment is based on physical appearance and what is communicated in those first few minutes, we can actually adjust our behavior to obtain better results. Here are a few tips to help you achieve this.

Dress to Impress!
How should you dress when meeting someone for the first time? You should wear a well put together outfit, you will look great and portray more confidence. So first, always wear clothes that fit the occasion. You don't want to meet someone at a fancy restaurant in jeans and a t-shirt when the other person is dressed to kill. Second, always wear a well coordinated outfit that fits you well. Show off a bit of your curves or muscle. By looking clean and stylish you show that you care about your appearance and how you portray yourself. Believe me, people will take notice. When meeting someone for the first time especially in those first 3 minutes image is everything.

When ever you go out you should take the time to look your best. After all you never know when you might run into the Date Of Your Dreams. And remember to accessorize, a new belt or nice watch. Accessories really do make a big difference to an outfit and to your look. People will respond to the image you project, basically if you look like a bum, you will be treated like a bum. So if you want to have more sex appeal, wear something that makes you feel sexy. If you want to have more control, wear something that make you feel like you have authority. Once you have the wardrobe for your desired image consider the other behaviors that attribute to your personal persona. Be aware of your physical gestures, how you make eye contact etc. What ever you wear be sure to show good taste. The outfit can portray any image you wish, relaxed, retro or professional but you must look clean and it must be done in good taste.

Grooming:
Guys today's women will take notice of everything to do with your grooming habits. Things like has he showered, hair washed and styled? Are his clothes clean, does he smell nice? And, all these little things really do matter to most women. And ladies, many guys today care about the very same things. They want their date to look hot with freshly washed and styled hair, nice clothes and smell pretty. So before you go out on that date be sure to take some extra time getting ready. Show your date you care about your appearance. Make sure you have showered, brushed your teeth, cleaned your nails, and wear nice perfume/cologne. Showing you care about your appearance and will greatly improve your chances for success!

Fit As A Fiddle:
Now you don't have to be a buffed body builder, but you should make an effort to stay fit. And , not just for your own health. Exercise not only makes you look good, but it will make you feel great as well. Also, that trimmer waist line will do wonders for increasing your energy helping you to go All Night Long with your date. When someone looks good, carries themselves well and has good posture it's an indication of a good lover - both in men and women.

Individuality
People love those who are unique, someone with individuality. Do a self-analysis of yourself, what quality (or qualities) do you possess that makes you different, one of a kind.. Then draw attention to that quality. Do you drive a car that is different, is your jewelry different. Something small like wearing a hat will give you individuality, it will make you stand out from the crowd. For fun try wearing a stetson or fedora, then watch to see what kind of reaction you get.

Self-Confidence
You must appear to be confident in your every move. Having self-confidence is some thing you can learn. Even if you are not too confident right now you can
pretend to be. Yes, that's right pretend to be. To appear to be confident, always look people in the eyes when speaking to them. Breath normally, and speak in a slow controlled manner. Don't fidget. And when the other person speaks, give all your attention to them. I know this can be difficult at first, but the more you practice the easier it will get. Trust me.

Show Respect:
Everyone wants to be admired and appreciated. If you show the Date of your Dreams that he/she is important to you, that what he/she has to say is important to you, you will be easily in their good graces. You do this by being attentive. Make sure your date is comfortable, and content. Give compliments, find the thing that others would miss and compliment that. Really listen during your
conversations. Simply admire the person you are with, show respect, make him/her feel good about his/herself and the Date of your Dreams will always
want to be around you.

Humor:
If you can make someone laugh, you will often be able to win their heart as well. Don't be too serious, relax and have some fun. Laugh out loud and your Dream Date with laugh along with you. Be happy, be funny, and love life.

Good Luck!
Marie Clare

Marie Clare specializes in writing about Dating, Relationships and Romance. Products such as lever hardware, panic and exit devices, desk locks and high security key control systems, as well as security boxes and safes, can help you protect your business and property. In addition, electronic access control systems can be designed to restrict access to the building or business complex in order to increase security and control.

Security Professionals are also trained to identify potential risk areas in your business. Assets such as computer hardware and office equipment are particularly vulnerable. To assist you in controlling theft, sophisticated equipment locks, loss prevention services and exit alarms are available.

In addition to offering a wide range of products, Security Professionals provide such value-added services as rekeying, key duplicating and consultation on governmental regulations such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Security Professionals can assist you in complying with these regulations by recommending and installing approved specialized door hardware, automatic door operators, low opening resistance and delayed action door controls.

Contact your local Security Professional, for all your business and residential security needs. They have the training, and are equipped to provide the information, products, services and proper installation to ensure peace of mind for your family, business and property.

Businesses face some unique security risks, some that you may not have considered are:

ADA compliance

The American with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires "barrier free" entry to and egress from all public and commercial property that handicapped persons could have access to. If your property is not in compliance, you could face fines, and lawsuits. Your Security professional has the knowledge and training to help with this special risk, they will survey your property, and make recommendations, for any non- compliant hardware.

Audit of key control systems

Unauthorized key duplication, is one of the biggest threats to all businesses, and is usually overlooked and very hard to detect. Key control is usually compromised because of the complete lack of, or very poor key control. Crimes committed with duplicate keys are very difficult to detect, and very difficult to prove. There are high security key systems available, that can insure that no one obtains a duplicate key without your authorization. There are access control systems available, that can do away with keys all together, and provide audit trails of who and when someone enters your property.

Using the correct safe or security container.

Are you using your fire or record safe for storage of cash and valuables? Many businesses make this error, fire and/or record safes are built to protect paper records from destruction from fire, most are not usually meant for protection of cash and valuables. There are some units available that are constructed to provide protection from fire and burglary, you should check with your Security Professional, to be sure of what you have.

Some businesses that keep high value items (jewelry stores) may be required by their insurance carrier, to use high security containers, others that keep cash value securities (airline tickets) may be required by their franchise and/or their insurance carrier to use a particular security container. If you are not using the correct container, and suffer a loss, your loss may not be covered. Your Security Professional has the training and knowledge to help you make sure you are using the proper security container.

Safeguard Your Home

With the rising crime rate in the United States, personal security has become a primary concern for many Americans. To combat this fear, many people are increasing the level of home security to protect their families and valuables.

Security Professionals can assess your current level of home security and recommend ways to improve it. These experts can then suggest the appropriate security products, such as entry locks, deadbolts, decorative hardware, door viewers, window and patio locks to meet your needs. We note characteristics about people that others miss. How many times have you observed someone, and then revealed that observation to a friend who said, "Yes, yes, that is exactly right! I could not put my finger on what impressed me about that person before." Here are three journaling tips that will develop your skill of observation.

Tip #1: Choose a Character of the Week

You might not describe your character's physical appearance at the beginning of your novel, but knowing what he or she looks like will open opportunities to you as you write. Every day we are in contact with others, whether it's our family, the grocery store clerk or the woman sitting in the car ahead of you at the stoplight. Choose one real person every week to write about in your journal. Write a page about this person, as though you were looking at her through a one-inch picture frame. Include every physical detail: clothing, jewelry, hairstyle, skin tone, fingernails, facial expressions and mannerisms. If you don't know her name, give one to her. You may discover a character who is ready to bump into the main character of that novel you are working on!

Tip #2: Create your Character's Goal Log

Select one character of the week (from Tip #1). It's time to develop this character's motivation. Step into your character's shoes and write a personal goal log. It will be similar to a goal log that you would write for yourself. Write about both long-term goals, (saving a million dollars, retiring to Tuscany) and short-term goals, (losing weight, learning to play guitar). Write about why these goals are important to your character. Include all the steps your character will have to take to achieve his or her goals, along with the obstacles he or she may encounter along the way. Some of the goals should be very difficult to achieve or open-ended, just like they are in real life. As you log your character through a difficult goal, which challenges will she or he overcome? Which ones will cause them to give up?

Tip #3: Interview a Character

Leaf through a copy of an old magazine. Cut out a picture of an interesting character. Tape it in your journal. On the opposite page, write interview questions to this person. Answer the questions with your imagination. Having a picture of the person to focus on will help you do that. Write detailed questions, in the present, that relate to the setting of your story. For example, if your story unfolds in Biloxy, Mississippi, but your character looks like a New Yorker, don't ask him, "Were you born in New York City?" Ask, "How did you end up here, at the Whistle Stop Caf, with one beat-up suitcase and no money for a return ticket?"

Your writer's journal can help you create characters for your short stories and novels that readers will understand and enjoy. If your reader believes your character, he or she will also believe your story.

Barbara Carr Phillips, journal instructor, believes dreams come true when you learn to journal your way to success. However the jewelry buying process can be a little tricky. Here are some hints for buying the perfect jewelry birthday gift at a great price.

1. There's a big difference between 14 karat gold and gold-plated jewelry. Fourteen karat (14K) jewelry contains 14 parts of gold, mixed in throughout with 10 parts of base metal. Gold-plated describes jewelry with a layer of at least 10K gold bonded to a base metal. Gold plating eventually wears away, depending on how often the item is worn and how thick the plating is.

2. If you're buying a watch, determine whether you want one that runs on a battery or one that must be wound daily. Ask if a warranty or guarantee is included, how long it lasts, and what parts and repair problems it covers. Also ask how and where you can get the watch serviced and repaired.

3. Know the difference between laboratory-created gemstones and naturally mined stones. Stones created in the lab are visually identical to stones mined from the earth. The big difference is in the cost: laboratory-created stones are less expensive then naturally mined stones. But because they look much like stones mined from the earth, they must be identified as lab-created. If you want a naturally mined stone, ask if it has been treated. Gemstone treatments- such as heating, dyeing or bleaching- can improve a stone's appearance or durability. Some treatments are permanent; some may create special care requirements. Treatments also may affect the stone's value.

4. Ask whether pearls are imitation or real. Real pearls are made by oysters or other mollusks; imitation pearls are man-made. Cultured pearls are made by mollusks with human intervention; and irritant introduced into their shells causes a pearl to grow. Real pearls that are not cultured are fairly rare and expensive. The cost depends on the size, usually stated in millimeters, and the coating or "nacre" on a real pearl, which gives it its iridescence.

5. When you're buying a diamond, consider four criteria: cut, color, clarity and weight, usually stated as carats. Each factor affects the price. Color is sometimes "graded" on a scale. However, scales are not uniform: a "D" may be the best color for one scale, but not for another. Make sure you know how a particular scale and grade represent the color of the diamond you're considering. A diamond can be described as "flawless" only if it has no visible surface cracks or other imperfections when viewed under 10-power magnification by a skilled diamond grader.

6. Everybody is fascinated by their birthstones, here is a list of the commonly accepted birthstones for each month.
January Garnet-Dark Red
FebruaryAmethyst-Purple
MarchAquamarine-Pale Blue
April Diamond-Clear
MayEmerald-Deep Green
June Pearl-Pearly White
July Ruby-Red
AugustPeridot-Light Green
SeptemberSapphire-Deep Blue
OctoberOpal-Multicolor
NovemberCitrine-Yellow
DecemberBlue Topaz-Blue

The Authors of the above Article, Sam and Tami Serio have been passionately involved with Jewelry and Gemstones for over fifteen-years. It's our understanding of what makes something happen.

If magic is hocus-pocus, science is simply well understood hocus-pocus. Fire? Solar eclipse? Volcanic eruption? Earthquake? Once we can explain it, it becomes science. But sometimes we're stuck straddling that science/magic line.

Consider magnets.

Remember when you were a kid back in elementary school and you first discovered the wonder of
magnets? What a thrill it was to explore the possibilities! There's nothing like messing with natural
forces to spark a child's imagination.

Thirty five years later, I'm still fascinated by magnets. Magnetic therapy has been used for thousands of years
in Asia and Europe. Some believe that magnets help restore the flow of blood through the capillaries, therefore assisting in the flushing of toxins that may accumulate due to injury or illness. Magnets have been
used to relieve the pain of arthritis, carpal tunnel, migraines, joint injuries, menstrual cramps, and much
more. There has been some research in the last couple of years indicating that magnetic therapy may offer
relief to those suffering from depression and attention deficit disorder.

Yet we're not sure how--or if--this really happens. It's got to be some kind of placebo effect, right? We're all looking for simple solutions to help us feel better. Sometimes we want things to work so much that they
actually DO. Does that mean it's all a bunch of hooey?

I've learned a lot about magnets since my husband started developing and distributing Bodylinx, a line of inexpensive magnetic bracelets. Tom stated right from the beginning that he wanted to downplay the jewelry's
possible health benefits. He likes the bracelets because they're fun-you can play around with the magnetic links and rearrange them. Though he remains reluctant to promote a healing property he doesn't really understand, some of his customers are strong advocates magnetic therapy.

We believe whatever we tell ourselves. If we want to think that a bracelet helps our arthritis, we are free to
believe that. And if it turns out to be true, did it work because we believed it or because there is some kind of science/magic at work?

As important as it is to question our beliefs regularly, it's also crucial that we become willing to suspend
disbelief. Fifty years ago, nobody would have believed that we'd have spacecraft landing on Mars and sending
us digital images of the craters there. As a species, we have broken barrier after barrier by daring to believe the impossible one small idea at a time.

We need to accept that there may be therapies that work even if we can't prove they do or understand how
it happens. This doesn't mean we have to be gullible or stop questioning. We simply need to entertain the
possibility.

Whenever possible, I like a hefty dose of science to back up my beliefs. There is a magnetic field present
on our planet. Fortunately, we don't often shoot out into space and have to deal with the physical effects
of that. What about those who do?

Remember the early days of space exploration? We had to wait several hours after splashdown before the
astronauts appeared at any press conferences.

It turns out that human bodies must be properly reintroduced to the earth's magnetic field. In recent
years, the scientists at NASA have learned how to facilitate this physical readjustment. They now have the astronauts change into special suits embedded with magnets as soon as they land. They slip into their orange suits and voila--they're ready for the cameras!

There is a great deal we are learning about magnets, and it's not just to help those who've blasted off into
space for a while. Magnetic wraps have been used for decades to help racehorses heal after injuries. There is plenty of anecdotal evidence from trainers to support the continued use of magnetic therapy for horses.
Horses don't tend to say much about their beliefs, so it's hard to point to the placebo effect as a possible
explanation.

The most compelling idea about magnetic therapy is that we may need it now more than ever. We used to walk barefoot in the forests and plains. We had direct
contact with the earth as we slept, hunted, and harvested. We were surrounded by vegetation and natural rock formations.

Not anymore. We've built concrete sidewalks, roadways, foundations, and buildings. We travel in cars
and trains, essentially encapsulating ourselves. We've created a world of barriers between the earth's natural
forces and our bodies. It's reasonable to consider that this may be affecting us physically in ways that are
difficult to diagnose.

The earth has so much to teach us. Sometimes we know what works long before we understand why it
does so.

We've never questioned the fact that being surrounded by nature helps us feel soothed, refreshed, and
invigorated. Scientific research now shows us more specifically how the earth helps us feel better. We
benefit from the negative ions near the ocean, our brains respond to the binaural beats present near
waterfalls or during rainstorms, and our bodies react positively to a restored connection to magnetic
forces.

I'm not likely to latch onto the latest pharmaceuticals or tout the benefits of new-fangled remedies. But the old ones? There's no big company poised to reap huge rewards by promoting them, and consequently, we're not likely to hear about them on the evening news or
be bombarded with television commercials praising their
potent power. I always like supporting the underdog, and in this case, that underdog is backed up by plenty
of science of the unprofitable kind.

We would do well to restore our connection to the earth and the powerful forces that help us maintain our health naturally. How wonderful that we can benefit from negative ions, binaural beats and magnetism
without dealing with health insurance or spending a lot of money at the drugstore.

The next time you take a walk in the woods, stroll along the beach, or stretch out in a meadow, remember
the magic of magnetism. Recapture the wonder you had as a child, and celebrate the fact that sometimes
the simplest solutions are still the ones that fill us with awe.

Maya Talisman Frost is a mind masseuse. I asked my fellow fashionistas for advice and here are some of the best ideas- all for under $20 bucks.

For the Single Girl:

Queen of the World. This is a Halloween favorite. Head to your nearest Salvation Army or Goodwill for old prom/evening dresses, or the back of your closet for those "forgotten" bridesmaid dresses. The puffier and gaudier, the better. Go to Claire's Boutique and purchase a tiara (usually around $5 to $10), several "diamond" rings, and elbow-length, white gloves. Throw on the rhinestone jewelry, correct that posture, and purchase 'Hello' (a.k.a the British 'People') at your local Barnes and Noble. Now, here is the piece de triumph: Have your male spouse/friend/partner be your man-servant, "James", for the whole night. Total outfit cost: $20.00-$80.00, depending on the size of your kingdom.

Marathon Runner. Toast the Olympics and dress like you're a marathon runner. Purchase a tank, shorts, and tennis shoes (the Canadian Athletic apparel store ROOTS has some great Olympic items at their online store). Since it is the end of October, go ahead and wear tights underneath those short shorts. Print out a race number on your computer, pin it to your tank, and you are ready to go. Total Outfit cost: 0.00-$40.00, depending on the medal you are seeking.

Christina Aguilera. All you need is a big blonde wig (think drag queen), black eyeliner, a plaid mini-skirt, a cropped top, and some thigh-high boots and you are set. It is helpful to bring a little CD player and have "Genie in a Bottle" playing in the background. Total Outfit cost $10.00-$50.00, depending on the size of your record contract.

For couples:

Ward & June Cleaver. The fifties look was very hot this summer, so head out to your local department store or thrift shop and find fifties-inspired, a-line dresses for a fraction of their normal price. Check out post summer sales at your local department store like Macys. Add a simple strand of pearls, pearl earrings, a waist apron, sensible pumps and you are ready to go. Have your significant other dress as Ward. Total Outfit cost $40.00- $80.00, depending on whether the 'Beav' needs braces.

Game Show Host and Pretty Helper Girl. This is a perfect costume for couples. Head out to your nearest thrift store and find the cheesiest late 70s/early 80s polyester, double knit suit ensemble for men and 80s deranged bridesmaid dress for women. Purchase a children's play microphone (Target has some for super cheap prices). Buy the cheapest hair spray you can find (All Net is good) and tease your hair like you are from the Jersey shore. Get a piece of cardboard, cut out a star about 8 inches in diameter and glue on gold glitter. Write the word "Grand Prize" in silver. To keep you smiling for the entire night, try this beauty pageant trick- put Vaseline underneath your upper lip. $60.00-$100 for both costumes, depending on whether or not your show picks-up for another season.

With A Group of Friends:

Sloth. This is the easiest and cheapest costume. Don't wash your hair or take a shower for two days, roll out of bed in your PJs and you are set! This costume is particularly effective if you get six friends to go as the other six deadly sins: greed, envy, wrath, gluttony, pride and lust. Total Outfit cost- $0, depending on how sinful you are willing to get.

1970's Television Family. There are so many great ones to choose from: the Partridge Family, Brady Bunch, Evan's family from Good Times, Donny and Marie Osmond, and the Jeffersons. The family you chose depends on the make-up of your group of friends, but putting together the outfits is almost as much fun as the actual Halloween event itself. Make a date and head straight to your local thrift store or your parent's closet. Total Outfit Cost- $20.00 and up, depending on how "dy-no-mite" you want to be.

Kathryn "The Budget Fashionista" Finney is the founder and Chief Shopping Officer of TheBudgetFashionista.com (http://www.thebudgetfashionista.com), a popular website that provides realistic fashion advice, shopping tips and sale event information to budget conscious consumers. Known as "the stylist to the cheap," Kathryn has been around the world searching for the perfect bargain on designer goods and is willing to get the bargain by any (legal) means necessary.

Native American Indian Art Wood Carvings of the Pacific Northwest
Clint Leung

Native American Indian art in the American southwest is dominated by the magnificent pottery and jewelry in the region. When it comes to the Pacific Northwest region which covers the states of Oregon, Washington, British Columbia (Canada) and the southern part of Alaska, the Native American art here is mostly wood carvings. This is not surprising since unlike the southwest desert, the Pacific Northwest is abundant with forests which have provided the wood as raw material for the region's Native American Indian art.

The wood carvings of the Pacific Northwest Native American art come in many different forms. The huge totem poles which are carved on entire tree trunks are probably the most famous. Certainly the most common form of contemporary Pacific Northwest Native American art is the plaque wood carving. The entire range of Pacific Northwest Native American Indian art subjects including eagles, ravens, thunderbirds, bears, killer whales and salmons are carved as plaques to be hung on the wall. A more complex project and usually higher priced would be the masks which are also carved out of wood. The Pacific Northwest Native American artists make some of the most striking aboriginal masks in the world.

Creative artists and carvers from this region have also used wood to carve out bowls, paddles, rattles and boxes which are all expertly decorated with Pacific Northwest Native American Indian designs. Some carvers have even carved more day to day objects such as letter openers out of wood again decorated with the region's Native motifs. Although not restricting themselves to just wood, the Pacific Northwest Native American artists also do art prints, paintings and precious metal jewelry but overall wood is still the most common material used in their artwork.

The Pacific Northwest style of Native American Indian art is still unknown to many parts of North America and the rest of the world but this will definitely change as the 2010 winter Olympics in British Columbia approaches. The world will see British Columbia and as visitors to this Canadian province have already noticed, there are fine examples of Pacific Northwest Native American Indian art everywhere one goes in the west coast of Canada.

Clint Leung is owner of Free Spirit Gallery ( http://www.FreeSpiritGallery.ca), an online gallery specializing in Inuit Eskimo and Northwest Native American art including carvings, sculpture and prints. Free Spirit Gallery has numerous information resource articles with photos of authentic Inuit and Native Indian art as well as free eCards.

Want To Make Money Online? You Need To Sell What People Are Buying!

Opal R. Gilbert

For several years now, enterprising individuals like you have been trying to make money on the Internet. It's flexible, low-cost, and if you do it right, can be extremely profitable. If you're among those who have tried to succeed and have not yet found that magic formula, you may just need to re-evaluate what you're trying to sell.

It's no secret the economy has been lagging for months, even though some economists are now calling for an unprecedented recovery, and that's great. We can all benefit from a thriving healthy economy. However, many companies have been forced to take a step back to decide whether anyone really wants their product or services. After all, if you're selling things that nobody wants to buy, where are your profits going to come from? Before you start any business (or re-evaluate a current one) you need to make sure there is a demand for your product.

Year round (and especially during the holidays), there is a constant demand for gifts on the Net. Millions upon millions of people go online every week looking for that perfect gift, and helping them find it is a sure-fire way to make a profit. Giftware is definitely one market that
has potential appeal for EVERYONE. If you can grab even a tiny percentage of those purchases, you'll be sitting pretty.

If you want to get your share of the market, you need to stand out among the crowd. You need to offer unique and quality items that people will notice and want to buy. Plus, it would be extremely helpful to carry exclusive items that can't be easily found elsewhere. That way, anyone who wants that item will have to buy it from you.

Now, just because you have some exclusive items it doesn't mean you can gorge people on prices. Keeping your prices low is your number one way to attract customers, and it's no real sacrifice on your part. The profit margin on gifts and collectibles like figurines, ornaments, jewelry and home accents is huge, so you'll definitely be better off to
keep your prices low and attract more customers.

There are some very good business opportunities out there for smart people looking to sell giftware online or offline. For example, you can buy your inventory from www.globalspecialtygifts.net at wholesale prices, then markup your prices a bit to make a profit.

If you want to take advantage of this tremendous market get started now and then you'll be ready for the holidays and any special events.
However, offering a varied inventory of high-quality giftware and collectibles, fine jewelry, and exclusive giftware will all but guarantee your success at any time of the year. After all, birthdays happen every day, as well as anniversaries and other special days. No matter the time of year, the demand for quality gifts is always there. When you're trying to make a profit, isn't that the bottom line?

Author Opal R. Gilbert is president of O.R. Gilbert Enterprises and runs Global Specialty Gifts.

It has been known to be an essential part of the clothing and appearance of the people in many regions of the world. At different parts of time through the centuries it was also used to signify the class demarcations prevalent in society at that point of time.

How ever in recent times it has acquired a new dimension. Body jewelry has never been in such high demand. The human body is not merely a body, it is a piece of art which has its own innate beauty and body jewelry is the perfect way to enhance the beauty of your body. Not only can you decorate your body with it, but you can also use it to bring into focus certain parts of your body or to enhance the beauty of certain parts.

Body jewelry items are usually for particular places on the human body. These more common places for body jewelry include the nose, eyebrow, nipple, ear lobes and naval, along with ear plugs (both curved and straight barbells). As fashion trends keep changing, the various parts where you can use body jewelry and the manner in which you can use it also keeps changing.

Nose body jewelry comes either in the classic captive circular barbell, or in the form of a nose screw. The nose screw can either be jeweled or plain, depending upon your preference. Eyebrow body jewelry is similar to that of the nose, in the sense that the eyebrow body jewelry also has the small captive barbell. This is now being made with a dangling, sparkling charm to hang from the upper most part of your eyebrow barbell. The eyebrow body jewelry can be either curved or straight with a charm of any style or color dangling from the top.

Nipple and naval body jewelry is one of the more popular types of body jewelry, it sis especially popular amongst the youth or the more adventurous in spirit. Nipple body jewelry includes the nipple barbells and the nipple shields. Naval body jewelry designs are also endless.

Whatever kind of body jewelry you use or wear it is important to keep some pointers in mind. Such as what kind of material is that specific body jewelry made off, is your skin allergic to it and is the piercing for the body jewelry done in a sterile and antiseptic environment.

This kind of jewelry is available for almost every conceivable part of your body. There are endless styles, designs, colors and textures in which body jewelry is made. What ever your budget, whether it is low end or high end; body jewelry is available in every range to suit your pocket as well as your tastes.

Body jewelry is not merely a decorative fixture; it is also a personal style statement. You can use it to bring attention or to take away attention from a specific part of your body. It is quite in vogue these days and has been in existence since time immemorial. If you have the attitude and the panache you can carry of any kind of body jewelry.

Looking for information about Jewelry?
Go to: http://www.merryjewelry.com
'Merry Jewelry' is published by Angela Davis -
The Complete Jewelry Resource Directory
Check out more Jewelry articles at: http://www.merryjewelry.com/archive

Wonderful White Gold Wedding Rings
Donna Monday

The elegant and sophisticated look of glittering, gleaming gold. There's nothing quite like it.

Some people never grow tired of the look of pure gold jewelry. Gold, being our most precious metal, is often a first choice among couples looking for that perfect gold wedding ring.

While yellow gold remains very popular with the wedding crowd. Many people prefer the brilliant hue of a white gold wedding ring.

White gold will look beautiful on you whether you're a man or a woman. You can find online a great selection of white gold diamond wedding rings and white gold wedding ring sets. Also, if you're looking for something a little fancier that can also become a piece of wonderful keepsake jewelry, white gold makes a very elegant engraved wedding ring that can be passed on to future generations.

The one thing you need to be aware of when buying a white gold wedding ring is that it will need periodic maintenance in order to keep it's luster.

To obtain it's much desired glittering white color, white gold is coated with another alloy called Rhodium (the natural color of white gold is really light gray). Rhodium will wear down after a while, so to maintain your ring's luster, you'll need to visit your local jeweler about every 12-18 months and have it re-plated with a new coating of Rhodium. The cost for this should be very reasonable.

Whether you're looking for a plain gold wedding band, or a wedding ring with sparkling diamonds, white gold is an excellent choice for those looking for something a little extra special.

Copyright 2004
Donna Monday
One special moment. Well there are certain essentials that none of us forget. On goes the swimsuit and bathing suit cover, flip flops on our feet. Beach bag has been packed with the essentials sunglasses, floppy hat, towel and a good book. Great got the basics covered but what about the rest.

So if we are so prepared for a day at the beach, why is it by the time we get home we look pretty worn. Here are some helpful tips to make your day at the beach fun and keep you looking fashion fresh all day and all the way home.

First before you leave home, if youve got long hair pull it into a high pony tail or fun knot. Use some funky hair accessories that will stay in place when youre swimming. Try a fun colored bobble or some firm fastening clips in bright summer colors. If you pull your hair up your neck will stay cool and youll look fresh all day with your neat hairdo.

Second slather yourself in sunscreen before leaving the house, then toss the sunscreen in your bag so you can reapply after a swim or every few hours. A sunburn is not only unhealthy and painful, its unattractive, so dont let yourself turn into the lobster of the day. Your sunscreen should be a SPF of 15. It doesnt hurt to use a strong SPF on your face or your entire body if you burn easily.

Your beach bag should be large enough to hold your supplies for the day. Why not get something fun and fashionable to keep you looking fashion fresh. Make sure youve got all the daily essentials in your bag sunglasses, sunscreen, a good book, a floppy hat, some lip gloss, and any other makeup touch ups youll want. If you plan to wear eye makeup make sure its waterproof. Stay away from heavy foundations. If you must apply something use a bronzer moisturizer. Its also a good idea to bring lip balm with an SPF15 to protect your lips. It never hurts to put some moisturizer in the bag. Include a snack and plenty of fluids. Its important not to get dehydrated.

Okay great weve got the basics covered now what about the wardrobe basics? If youre planning to wear a swimsuit its usually easiest to put it on at home, that way youre not chasing down change rooms. So great first on goes the swimsuit. Now what to wear for a cover? Well youve got plenty of choices. A tank top and shorts, tank and skort, or a nice light cotton dress all work well over top. Choose something thats easy to put on and take off, and choose fabrics that breathe to keep you cool. I also suggest including a long sleeved cotton blouse just incase you start to burn you can protect your shoulders and arms.

If youre planning on heading out later in the day without returning home you might want to toss a pair of jeans or long skirt into your bag. If your outing is going to extend into the evening youll want to include a sweater for the cooler evening air. If youre worried about your evening wear getting sandy or wet at the beach, then place them in a separate bag and leave them in the trunk of your car. That way you are guaranteed theyll remain fresh.

My favorite beach look is this. And whats perfect is it keeps me looking fashion fresh throughout the day and takes me right into the evening. First I like a swimsuit thats got lots of support and is bright and cheerful. I throw a fitted tank on top and throw on a loose flouncy long skirt. The long skirt serves me through the evening and also works great to cover up if Im starting to burn. I choose a lightweight material in a darker color with a pattern that accents the colors in my swimsuit. Flip flops are my footwear. Depending on where Im heading after the beach I choose either a basic pair or one of my funky pair with rhinestones or crystals. Easy to walk in, feet breath, and terrific for an evening out. I keep a fitted light weight sweater in my car, and take a long sleeved cotton blouse down to the beach. I usually choose a long sleeved and long length blouse because its versatile. I can knot it to create a short blouse, wear it long as a beach cover, and put it on if I start to burn on my upper body. I usually choose white or a soft pastel depending on my other colors. I like white because its cool to wear and refreshing to look at. Every year I buy a fun new beach tote thats big enough for the beach but not too big as to take it with me for an evening out. I like a fun bag thats full of character.

Since I always feel naked without my jewelry I wear fashion jewelry to the beach. That way should I loose something I wont be out a lot of money and I wont feel so bad. I like to keep the earrings simple and elegant. I may or may not wear a necklace. Often Ill toss a funky wood necklace in the bag to add to the evening outfit. I like to wear a couple of fashion rings just to add the finishing touches. Now if youre fussy about tan lines youll probably want to forgo the rings. I toss my watch in the bottom of my bag so I can put it on later.

Thats it simple is the key. Keep your beach wardrobe choices simple but fashionable. Think ahead so you can go from beach to an evening out without hassle. Remember to always make your fashion statement!

Looking Fab at The Beach!
Sher Matsen

Its that time of year when we pack up our bags and head to the beach for the day to enjoy those warm sunrays and the refreshing sound of the lapping water.

So what constitutes a good beach wardrobe.
